The vision for the TrustedTransfer concept began during tax season at our small accounting firm. We were searching for a secure way to exchange sensitive files between our firm and our clients - without needing an entire IT department to support it, and without paying excessive fees to big tax software companies who attempt to provide "one size fits all" solutions. The vision continued to take shape when we noticed the amount of time our staff spent on document management: scanning client files, retrieving documents from our physical storeroom, and resending client documents from prior years. The answer to these issues became clear: build a scalable, cloud based archive that could act as a two way street for our clients and our firm to securely transfer and retain sensitive documents over multiple service years.
We wanted our firm to retain administrative control over the documents as well as the file structure of the documents so that once we began an engagement, the client could not change or delete documents without us knowing about it. We saw an opportunity to fulfill our own need, and meet the needs of many others in a similar situation.
Eventually we began incorporating other features as we learned more about our clients' preferences. For example: we wanted to be able to have our firm's logo and information on the user interface so that the archive had the appearance of being a product provided by our accounting firm. We took that concept one step further when we discovered that we could incorporate a small piece of code to host a frame that runs the TrustedTransfer archive within any firm's website. This provides a seamless integration with the rest of the accounting firm's marketing site.
Lastly, and perhaps most importantly, we wanted a product that could be operated by all of our accounting firms' end users, no matter the level of technological savvy. The file transfer mechanism is simple, the client can either use an upload box, or the drag and drop functionality for quick transfers.
At TrustedTransfer, we understand the specific needs of accounting firms and we have designed our Archive’s functionality to meet those needs. We feel that this is our greatest strength.
